Brampton roots
Jot Dhaliwal was born and raised in Brampton and has lived in the community throughout his life. He attended local Brampton schools and understands the city as someone who grew up here.
Education
My educational journey began at Hickory Wood Public School, continued at Roberta Bondar and Fletcher’s Creek, then Mississauga Secondary School. I studied Justice Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber before completing the JD Pathway LLB at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. I later earned my LLM at the University of Toronto.
My education has taken me from Brampton classrooms to universities in Canada and the United Kingdom. Brampton has remained home.
Community
Throughout this campaign, Jot has been meeting residents, families, volunteers, community organizations, cultural organizations and local leaders across Brampton. These conversations help him hear the concerns people want brought forward.
Public service
Jot is seeking election as Peel District School Board Trustee for Brampton Wards 3 & 4. He wants to represent community perspectives at the school-board table and take part in responsible, collective decisions.
Personal approach
His approach is grounded in listening, accessibility, respect, community engagement and responsible representation.
